Release Notes - v2.5 - April 2026

Gathid v2.5 delivers a more powerful, intuitive platform for administrators. This release tightens access control, gives you more control over your dashboards and insights, simplifies how you manage systems and data, and lays the groundwork for exciting AI-assisted capabilities coming in future releases.

Administration & Access Control

Gathid v2.5 makes it easier to govern who can do what across your identity environment, with refined role mapping, tighter permissions, and clearer error handling for identity providers.
Simplified Role Mapping to External Identity Providers

  • Map Gathid roles directly to your external security groups in Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), Okta, and more from the Administration > Roles interface. Three rounds of refinement in this release mean the experience is cleaner, faster, and easier to maintain, with SSO role mappings consolidated in one place to reduce duplication.
  • Tighter Responder Permissions - Responder-role users now operate with least-privilege access, giving them exactly what they need to complete audits without unnecessary administrative reach.
  • Clearer Identity Provider Error Handling - When a token is missing expected claims, Gathid now returns a clear 401 error with useful diagnostic logging (instead of a generic 500) making it significantly faster to identify and resolve IdP misconfigurations.

Dashboards & Insights

Build and share dashboards that communicate identity risk and access posture more clearly, with less effort.

  • Faster, Easier Widget Setup - Configuring and saving dashboard layouts now requires fewer clicks, and widget dropdowns are sorted alphabetically so you can quickly find the right widget as your dashboards grow.
  • Clearer System Summary Counts - The System Summary widget now shows changes as explicit up/down counts (e.g. +9 accounts / –9 accounts) instead of percentages, giving you a more accurate picture of what has actually changed.
  • Flexible Report History on Dashboards - You can now attach widgets to reports with historical data even if those reports are not scheduled to run daily making it easier to surface curated, on-demand reports on your dashboards.
  • AI-Assisted Insights (Coming Soon) - Experimental AI-powered features are in development, including executive summary templates framed around compliance frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, CIS Controls), AI-assisted report descriptions, and a natural-language query builder in Explore. These capabilities are currently undergoing internal testing.
Note: AI features are not yet enabled for customer deployments. Your Customer Success representative will be in touch as these capabilities approach general availability.

Systems & Data Management

Managing your systems, data sources, and relationships has never been easier, with a raft of usability improvements across the board.

  • Wildcard Support for Dated Files - Use wildcard patterns in file names (e.g. CONNECT*.csv) so that systems appending dates to their export files can be connected once and handled automatically, no constant reconfiguration needed.
  • Export and Import System Configuration - Authorised users can now export and import system configuration directly from the browser, using the same JSON format as the systems catalogue. Ideal for migrating or replicating configurations across environments.
  • Search by System GUID - Systems search now supports searching by GUID, giving technical users a fast path to direct lookups.
  • Relationship Builder Improvements - Fixed an issue where clicking on a relationship to a nested system failed to open the configuration modal. Relationship lines now correctly become solid after a status change, improving visual clarity. Upload Portal and Systems ordering in the Relationship Builder now better matches the way you think about your data sources.
  • CSV/XLSX Data Source Preview - Fixed an issue where system data source previews failed when the file extension was uppercase (CSV or XLSX). Agents also now correctly recognise these files.
  • Membership Export Completeness - Membership exports now include all membership information, bringing v2 exports in line with v1 behaviour.
  • Upload Portal Administrator Tools - Administrator users can once again access Copy, Cut, and Delete tools in Upload Portal as expected.
  • Cleaner Column Labelling - The “Last updated” column in Systems has been renamed to “Data Modified” to more accurately describe what it reflects.

Stacks, Jobs & Logging

Better visibility, clearer statuses, and more control over your stack operations.

  • Improved Snapshot & Stack Visibility - Snapshot failures now log detailed FATAL error reasons in Gathid logs, making troubleshooting faster and easier.
  • Stack header labels now accurately show when a stack actually started and finished, rather than always displaying “Today @ 2:00am”.
  • Systems that have not yet started now correctly show as Queued (rather than Running), giving you a more accurate sense of progress at a glance.
  • Fixed an issue where Phase 1: Loading showed a maximum of 25 systems — large stacks are now fully visible.
  • Historic failures are no longer over-highlighted in red, reducing confusion when past issues are no longer actionable.
  • Re-run blocked stacks and snapshots - Privileged administrators can now forcibly re-run stacks or snapshots that are stuck — even when not in a Failed or Complete state — with clear warnings and full audit logging for accountability.
  • Larger Log Exports - Log exports now support up to 10,000 entries per export, better matching the totals visible in the UI.
  • Viewing an existing metric’s filters no longer incorrectly logs an “add metric” event.

Explore, Search & Reports

Improved navigation, sharper search, and more accurate reporting.

  • Clearer Explore Terminology - Labels and wording in Explore have been refined based on customer feedback, aligning terminology with the way you naturally think about stepping in and out from entities.
  • Search Retains Your Last Query - The search box now retains your last entered query when you drill into an entity and return to the search page, click Go. Making iterative investigation much smoother.
  • Search Within Collapsed Systems - Fixed a bug where selected entities appeared to go missing when inside a collapsed system, making it clearer where your current selection is located.
  • Report Administration Improvements - Reports in Admin > Analytics can now be searched by report UUID for faster lookups.
  • The owner dropdown when creating a new report is faster and easier to navigate in large environments.
  • Exported reports no longer include internal “Clear Action” controls — exports contain end-user data only.

Audit & Response

  • Sign-Off Data Integrity - Resolved an issue where last-minute edits made while signing an audit were not saved, preventing silent data loss at approval time.
  • Responder List Reliability - Fixed issues where long URLs in responder lists caused errors, improving reliability for large or complex audit configurations.
  • Cleaner Response Experience - Fixed repeated “Unsaved Changes” prompts that appeared on response pages even when no changes had been made.

Platform & Performance

Under-the-hood improvements that ensure Gathid stays fast, stable, and easy to maintain as your environment grows.

  • Session Reliability - Continued improvements to session management to ensure that timeouts and logout flows more reliably invalidate server-side sessions, keeping your environment secure and predictable.
  • Improved Guided Tours - In-product tour has been introduced, and will continue to evolve.
